In 2013, the annual amount of visitors to Jamaica was 2,008,000 while preliminary figures indicate a 4.7% increase in stopover arrivals in January 2014.
In the wake of a record-setting year in visitor arrivals in 2014, it has been shown that Jamaica’s stopover arrivals continue to trend upward and are currently pacing above regional growth projection for the year.
In 2015, the annual number of stopover visitors to Jamaica was 2,123,042 which was 2.1% (or 42,861) more stopovers than the 2,080,181 in 2014.
During the months of January to April, there were 756,463 stopovers, 4.9% more than the same period in 2014.
In the summer period, May to December arrivals were a flat 0.5% more with 1,366,579 stopovers. Vacation accounted for 68.1% of the arrivals and 13.8% were visiting family and relatives.
A total of 1,568,702 cruise ship passengers also visited Jamaica, indicating an increase of 2.3%.
