Woody’s Low Bridge Place

Jamaica Portland Port Antonio

The ‘dynamic duo’, Woody and Cherry Cousins are Woody’s Low Bridge Place.  Yes, Woody’s is an excellent choice for burgers and other great food, but upon entering, you know this place is about people and good times.

Woody’s most popular menu item is their excellent homemade hamburger with a side of fries, made with fresh, local ingredients.  Vegetarians will appreciate their veggie burger or grilled cheese; meat lovers go for the varieties of cheeseburgers, hot dogs and cheese dogs. If you contact them early in the day, special made meals are prepared, using fish, chicken, pork or beef, depending on local availability.  Cherry, otherwise known as “The Boss” (at least to Woody) makes her own jerk seasoning.  Individual bottles can be purchased to take home.

Large gatherings are accommodated in their octagon shaped, open air building, with Woody arranging the entertainment, usually manning the microphone himself.   (Woody is an aspiring Reggae singer - it may not be too difficult to persuade him to sing one of his recorded tracks.)

Located in the Drapers District, about 20 minutes outside Port Antonio, the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere is another reason people just keep coming back to Woody’s.  Always a smile, a good word along with a cold drink is what comes at you right away.  You will even find encouragement on the walls, with hand posted words of wisdom and funny sayings like “We have one mouth, two ears; we should listen twice as much as we talk!”  Cherry and Woody have also been known to give nature tours of their yard, where they share their knowledge of plants and medicinal herbs they grow.  People enter Woody’s Low Bridge Place as customers, and leave as friend
